Therapy Shetland ponies are gentle, small-statured equines used in animal-assisted therapy to support emotional, social, and sometimes physical wellbeing. Although compact in size—typically standing under about 34 inches—they bring a powerful calming presence and a unique ability to connect with people of all ages. 

Their approachable size makes them especially suitable for working with children, elderly individuals, people with special needs, or those in therapeutic settings such as care homes, hospitals, schools, and rehabilitation centres.
